- First off you don't format a tape. You need special software like
- AmiBack or QuarterBack. If your SCSI controller recognizes it then it will
- work once you get the proper software. Mine comes up as ID #4, Caliper 150.
- The Manual for your software will explain how to perform a backup and restore.

- The big misconception is that tape drives are accessed the same as a
- HardDrive, Syquest, Zip ect... thats not true. You will not see an icon for
- your tape drive. It is only accessable via the special backup/restore
- software; Except when you use TapeWorm file system which causes your tape
- drive to act like a big HD, but like the old cassette drives of the c64 days
- it is SLOW. Example, if you wanted to get program Zulu that is at the end of
- the tape it could take as long as 5 minutes to find & access the program. the
- reason is tapes are accessed sequentually not randomly.
